protest

there are many union workers that are now protesting in the capital. they are saying that they are starting to cut the wages of the pensions. they say that the pension could not work because if they tried to do it they would end up paying more in pensions then they would their current workers. they say that if they want to continue the pensions they have to cut workers jobs and pay rate. many private businesses have ended their pensions because the can not afford it.
i think that the pensions should just be ended. there has to be other ways to pay the old workers. the people that are not working anymore should not be able to take away the money that should be going to the people that are working now. if they do that many people will leave. they also want to raise taxes, and that would be bad because then no businesses will have money. this means that there can be no more jobs because businesses wont be able to afford to hire anyone.

Obama and the house

this article is about the new budget that Obama has set. they say that the new budget is the first clear plan of the budget cuts that we have seen since Obama took office. They are also saying that there is a problem with all of this because the budget is not focusing on the long term economic things that many agree need to be looked upon. They say that the budget is dealing with the small less long term economic problems.
i think that they need to improve this budget cut because by the sounds of it Obama is just scared to make a big decision that may be the do or die point for the U.S. I understand how it could be scary to be the one to make that proposal, but it has to be done and Obama is the president at this point and it is him who needs to make that decision.

protesting

So basically what has happened in Tunisia is that during a protest to make the police chief step down from his position two people were killed and 17 others were injured after police fired into the crowd. In Egypt the military has just made Mr. Mubarak step down from power by using 18 nationwide anti-government protests. All of the articles are dealing with protest that have either worked or turned out ugly.
I think that these articles are good because they are showing us what is going on over there. it is showing us how hard the government is willing to push to keep themselves in power. The bad part of all this is that the protesters are now in danger because of all of the fighting and the aggression shown by the police.

Egypt

The problem in Egypt as of right now is that the tourism rate has dropped so much that it has put Egypt into a spiraling downfall that is increasing in speed. this economic downfall has been a result of the uprise against the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak. this is bad because the tourism makes up for more than 11 percent of gross domestic profit, and the cease of tourism has caused more than 650 million pounds in lost revenue.
i think that the problem is very big. this is such a huge problem because not only is the economy of Egypt going down the drain but the brotherhood that is coming into the area may come to power and this would not be good. mostly because Egypt is a very calm country regarding the U.S, and if the brotherhood comes to power they will not be that good to the U.S or Egypt itself.

health care

Pretty much this whole article is based around this one guy, supreme court justice Anthony Kennedy. Basically this article is talking about this bill that is trying to get passed that is involving the health care system. District court Judge Roger Vinson had ruled the law unconstitutional when it was brought to his court and since that the helth care reforn law has a 2-2 record in the federal courts, having two district judges for it and two against it.
I think that this helth care reform law could help our country greatly but we can not yet say how it will turn out in the end. i personally do not see what is so unconstitutional about this law but it will not be my word or thoughts that are used to make the desicion. i think that supreme court justice Anthony Kennedy will make a very good desision if it even gets that far.
